Tecnoglass Improves Extrusion Quality Control with SFM

Tecnoglass uses the SFM measurement system at its Barranquilla plant to support fast and accurate quality control for aluminum extrusion profiles. According to Alexis Ortiz, Quality Engineer at Tecnoglass, the system helps the team inspect profiles for glass windows and doors in record time.

With SFM, engineers create measurement plans with the required dimensions and tolerances. The system then compares those plans with the scanned image of the profile and provides actual measurements immediately. This allows the Tecnoglass team to visually check the profile, identify out-of-tolerance areas, and improve accuracy across the quality control process.
